Dr. Joan Hader is a board-certified urologist with over 30 years of experience treating women and men with urologic disorders. Dr. Hader graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Georgia where she attained membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Chemistry Honor Society. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia and completed her internship in general surgery at the University of Maryland Medical System, Baltimore, Maryland.
She then completed her urology residency at the University of Maryland Medical System, as well as at the Brady Urology Institute at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Hader later served as chief resident for the University of Maryland Department of Urology before relocating back to Atlanta. Her prior titles include section chief of urology at Saint Joseph’s and Northside Hospital. Since 1993 she has been treating patients at both Northside Hospital Atlanta and Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Dr. Hader specializes in female urology, including surgery for urinary incontinence as well as adult urologic oncology. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds memberships in several professional organizations including the American Urologic Association, Society for Women in Urology and the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association.
Dr. Hader has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and Atlanta Magazine since 2013.
