Andrew Pridjian, MD is a fellowship trained urologist specializing in the minimally invasive treatment of urologic cancers and benign conditions. Dr. Pridjian graduated magna cum laude from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. He received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While there, he was elected as president of the Student Council as well as president of the Urology Society. After completing his internship in general surgery at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, Dr. Pridjian headed back to Philadelphia to complete his residency training in urology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he served as chief resident in the Urology Department in his final year.
Following his residency, Dr. Pridjian returned to Los Angeles, California to complete a fellowship at the University of Southern California (USC) in advanced robotic surgery and urologic oncology. At USC, he had the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced robotic surgeons in the world, including Dr. Inderbir Gill, and gained extensive experience in minimally invasive treatment of benign and malignant urologic disease. Additionally, at USC he served as a clinical instructor for education.
Dr. Pridjian’s specialty training in robotic surgery allows him to perform operations through small incisions with the use of a sophisticated robotic-assisted system. This technique allows for shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery time and less post-operative pain. Although he is skilled at many types of urologic surgeries, his areas of special interest include the treatment of prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers.
Dr. Pridjian feels that every patient is a unique individual and deserves a personalized health care plan. He believes in a collaborative approach when determining treatment options, which includes the patient. His down-to-earth nature enables him to translate complicated diagnoses and procedures into understandable language and allows him to be a patient advocate.
In addition, Dr. Pridjian is also a member of multiple professional societies including the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society and the Society of Robotic Urologic Surgeons.
In his free time, Dr. Pridjian is an avid road cyclist, and enjoys traveling, playing chess and the violin.
